My seven shelties that I call my fur children live inside my home with me, and were acquired as puppies from responsible and reputable breeders. The litters that are whelped are also raised inside the home, and handled daily since birth. This is to ensure that the puppies are carefully monitored and worked with on their developmental stages, and carefully socialized with the purpose of fostering a intelligent, confident, and loving temperament. Puppies have also been bred for intelligence, and soundness of disposition, as well as beauty, and good health to the best of my knowledge...by researching the lines and staying in contact with the new owners of the puppies that have been placed in their forever new loving homes. The puppies are placed in their new homes no earlier then eight weeks of age in Ohio. View state puppy laws to see what applies to you. My shelties and their litters are under the care and supervision of me and the care of my veterinarian out of Georgetown Animal Hospital, which is also located in Brown County. My shelties are always up to date on their veterinarian check ups, vaccinations, heart worm prevention, and flea control during the flea active season. I use a flea control topical solution that is gentle enough that it can be used on pregnant and nursing mothers as well as being used on puppies as early as four weeks old. I have just discovered a natural flea control topical solution that may be used and tried in the future. Grooming is done on a regular basis to keep them healthy and looking beautiful. I have almost two acres, and one acre is fenced in for their safety and for them to get their exercise. All of my shelties are also maintained on a carefully monitored diet, consisting of a natural human grade dog food and a natural human grade supplement. These two products can be found on my links page. Optimal health is my goal for all of my shelties by using these two products, and is to prot-note optimum development in their puppies. The puppies are also started on the same products as the shelties, to ensure the puppies have a healthy start. These products are highly recommended for a growing puppy as well as continuing with these products through the adult years. Visit my planned breeding page to find out more information on upcoming litters, and my puppies page to find out availability and what comes with your puppy. Unless otherwise discussed, puppies are placed in homes on strict non-breeding, spay/neuter, and limited registration. A responsible breeder encourages the spay/neuter programs, because there is a lot to know about raising puppies. Whether you are looking for companionship, performance, or show, I think you will be very pleased to acquire one of my puppies. Show quality is considered on a educated guess by grading for future potential, but can not guarantee a champion status can be obtained. Producing high quality litters people have come to know at Durinda's Shetland Sheepdogs. The Shetland Sheepdog is intelligent, loyal, devoted, and affectionate.
